  1. Cape May, one of the best birdwatching spots on the east coast. And I agree about the homeowners’ associations.

  2. Florida might be the HOA captial of the world! It's unbelievable how much rights people give up to live in those places.

  3. Nice insights and cool new suggestions for games for me! Thanks!

  4. I agree with you about Arkham Horror LCG. They really should put out a buy this first, then this, then this list. It’s so confusing.

  5. It’s confusing how Creature that Ate Sheboygan made a top-10 list. I mean, I like the game, played a lot back in the day. But a 40 year old two player game… how does it get so many plays legitimately?

  6. Great video! Love the picks, especially the game about Sheboygan

  7. HOAs can be insane and do worse garden stuff that just telling people how to cut their lawn. I love my unmown lawn, the moment I started cutting less frequently I got grasshoppers and meadow butterflies move in (and my lawn is *tiny*)

  8. Do we get bonus points for guessing why the #1 game is at the top of the list? (I too am looking forward to Expeditions)

Sorry to hear your friends did that to you Matthew, maybe you should house rule the QE boards into the game so you can tell them how you really feel when they steal all your resources. 😉

  9. As an American I cannot agree with you more about HOA's. However HOA politics sound like a good theme for a board game. Could you imaging an expansion to "Welcome To" where HOA cards prevent you from building a fence etc.?

  10. I hate to admit this (because I like being in these videos with you) but I really enjoyed this format of you sharing your thoughts just all on your own here.

  11. If you do decide to jump into Arkham Horror, get a core box and one of the re-released campaign boxes – you don't need the corresponding player card box right away. Dunwich Horror is usually considered the best entry point, but if one of the other ones looks more interesting, go for that. Only once you start thinking "I really like this game but wish I had more options to play with" should you start getting more player cards.

  12. power plants is very good and medows to 🙂 i love this game.Shogun no Katana interest me and cape may to

  13. Excellent stuff as always Mathew, not heard of the shogun one or power plants and will have to take a look.

  14. The anti-HOA interlude was great haha. We hate them!

  15. I used to play "The Creature that Ate Sheboygan", and it was flawed, but definitely amazingly fun to play. It was flawed in that there were definitely monster designs that were totally OP and virtually unbeatable. But that didn't prevent it from being SO much fun.

BTW, I've never heard of Cape May, but it sounds exactly something my brother would love (since he does own a rental property in Cape May).

  16. You don't need to get all of Arkham Horror the Card Game, I'm still working through the second campaign (Path to Carcosa). AH CCG definitely includes some of the cleverest design ideas I've seen in any game.

  17. I own Scythe but I just don't get it and several friends feel the same. It often feels like multi-player solitaire broken by the odd token fight to hit an objective, a euro disguised as a troops-on-a-map game. I've only played at 3, does it need higher player counts to sing (I should say I don't need lots of fights, I just need to feel some tension).
