This video series started as an April Fools joke, but people liked the idea and the pacing of it, so it returns now as a semi regular features. The full list of games is in the video description above, along with links to the 3 minute recaps of the ones i've done proper reviews of. Also, this list of games was randomly generated from the list of about 900 odd games i have logged. So expect more of them.
Awesome. Just added Alhambra and Arkham Horror to my "want to play" wishlist.
Alhambra is indeed excellent! Poor Steam doesn't seem to get any love anymore. 💔
It started as a joke. Now it's must viewing. Thanks Jarrod!
I love both Steam and carob.
I tried One Deck Dungeon once. Thought it was a little too RNG-heavy.
Love it! More time to do what matters….GAME!
Have you been working on a COIN game?
It's funny how you could correctly describe something as "one of reiner knizia's many boring, forgettable games" or "one of reiner knizia's many incredible games" or "one of reiner knizia's many kind of ok games" etc etc etc. cause the dude just makes SO MANY GAMES
(of course you'd probably not use all those descriptions for the same game…)
I was just looking at Isle of Cats. Completely agree about New Angeles and it's setup determines the outcome.
Love the return of this! And the promising "volume 1" in the title.
Especially wonderful is that this ends up showcasing so many games I hadn't even heard of or seen before, and end up pleasantly surprised by their discovery. "HeroQuest+" sounds like a good time.
Civ: A New Dawn is even better with the expansion. It's nearly perfect now.
Space Base — Fiddly and boring. Valeria: Card Kingdoms does it so much better with better theme and a ton of expansions
Architects — Yes only at 4-5 players, too much of a race otherwise.
Just perfect! More please!
Fun video, made me curious about a lot of the games listed
That Euthia review made me make an audible oof sound
Dammit guys my list of games I want just grew… Thank you though for opening our eyes to more fun gaming experiences!
Love it! Getting Pavlov’s House in a few days! So excited!
Should have a scoring system, or be ordered from what you consider to be worst to best. A lot of these you're only describing what it is and not whether you thought it was good or not and I wouldn't consider that a review.
Your Pavlov's House review led me to getting Castle Itter. It's my first military style game and I had a ton of fun on my first playthrough. I actually developed an affection for some of the soldiers and felt like I could count on some more than others as absurd as that may sound. I'll probably get Pavlov's House too but I thought Castle Itter might be a little bit of an easier starting point. I'm also curious about Soldiers in Postman's Uniforms.
We love Space Base!
I own Ninja Burger. Got it around the time it came out and even have the expansion (Sumo Size Me???). Truly a dark period for tabletop board gaming. 😀 I have even worse games in my collection: mostly Milton Bradley games from the 1970's.
Man…I love New Angeles. The traitor part is a great tension to use in the negotiation of this game.
thaaaaat was the best 3 minutes of my life
Love the vid and links to reviews. Reminds me that I have Ninja Burger stored somewhere. Never played it because it looked too rubbish and am glad to have that confirmed here. It can stay hidden somewhere.
Ninja Burger. The extra one I order on the side when my wife goes to wash her hands. Best played solo.
This is legit a really good format.
I loved this video and hope you make more, but also I bet it's hard to make these so don't push yourself too much
I think it's the first time I used 0,75x speed feature in YT 🙂
This was great. Love it. Found a couple gems to look up this way
Am I the only monster who watches these at 2x speed?
I love how You respect our time. Which is the most valuable asset. Your channel is the last one about boardgames I left in my RSS reader! Hope it will only grow and bring You a lot of satisfaction(and hopefully – money) 🙂 Cheers!
I had zero interest in Isle of Cats. I gave it a chance on BGA and feel in love with it. The card drafting and polynomial placing of cats doesn't sound too exciting but its a neat game with different avenues to win. I plan on picking up a copy.
At first I thought "meh, this would be better if you also showed the game on the table", but by the end of it, I thought that this is a really nice no frills, no bullshit, no time wasted format to out a few new interesting games on my radar. Well done!
We don’t whisper in sonar! We yell!
I've had my eye on Noctiluca, but I'm unsure what is meant by "tightest design".
Doom of the Eldar! It's been a while since I saw that.
Fat free, sugar free and dairy free! Lol fantastic video! Best boardgame guy on the whole internet!
Love this so much! Looking forward to more of these!
