What board games are you looking to buy soon at $20, $40, $60, $80 or $100?Let us know!
I’ve got a friends copy of Gift of Tulips on my desk to learn and teach for them. It’s a pretty game for sure.
The Familiar Tales tangent was hilarious lol
Im single and ready to mingle. Bring on the campaign games!
6nimmt, take 5 is the same game.. but they also have a different deck for variant with 2 players. Awesome game of course, and really fun as well on TTS.
I’ve been looking for Village for awhile too! I would also like to get Hallertau and Obession.
The first 3 I fulfilled on the weekend with 5211, Paint the Roses , and Merchants of the dark road. I am interested in Wonderlands War at $80 and Dwellings of Eldervale at $100.
With QE its whoever paid the most gets automatically eliminated
My picks:
Under $20: No Thanks!
Under $40: Caper Europe
Under $60: Honey Buzz
Under $80: Ark Nova
Under $100: A Feast for Odin
Over $100: Kanban EV
BUT I’m not getting any of these because I’m going to preorder Wingspan Asia+Nesting Box in addition to going all in on the reprint and expansion for Wonderland’s War. 😅
I love coop games and Paint the Roses does seem like a great game! Definitely getting it when I get the chance!
Apparently for Fjords, the support is being handled by Kolossal?
It might be worth trying that support channel, as I've usually found Kolossal to be responsive.
For the Brands, I think Rajas of the Ganges is probably their best game. The win condition being crossing fame and wealth is interesting (where a fame is effectively 2 wealth but you are constantly using your wealth track to pay for things) and the dice rolling for value forces tactical decisions. Worth trying if you can find it.
Of the games you picked, I only own 2. Gift of Tulips, which I've played twice and enjoyed 2 player, and Hallertau, which is unfortunately still in shrink-wrap. Really need to get it played soon! Games I'd buy are: $20 – Kites, $40 – Kingdom Builder (or Sequoia or Caesar!), $60 – Ginkgopolis, $80 – Caverna, and I'm not sure what I'd pick in the $100 slot.
Just picked up Familiar Tales because I loved Forgotten Waters and was very impressed with the story and voice acting
Drafting? How about inis?
That’s insane that your pledge hasn’t arrived. My pledge came in around May or maybe earlier. Are you guys out of Canada or US?
Also, the initiative was $40 or $50 last time I checked, $80 is way too much for that game. Great game though, the card play become more of a puzzle than some of the puzzles sometime because of wrist watch mechanic that is a literal ticking clock of how soon the game will end and the more costly the action card you play the fast the clock ticks down till game over. Love this game.
familiar tales is the deal of the week on boardlandia right now, way less than 100
16:16 kickstarter is SHADY. I've been burned twice. $170.
Village is great. I actually have a copy. But I’m in US
I really want to get familiar tales, i think it would be a nice campaign to play with my kids.
Village is probably my favourite worker placement game because the death mechanic is sooo fun. It also acts as the game end timer and only the first few that die get points, so there's a lot of strategic decision making. (Yes you can make new workers, 4 generations worth) I enjoyed The Initiative too.
My own personal wants
under
£20 – Delicious
£40 – Watch
£60 – Legacy of Yu
£80 – Sagrada Artisans
£100 -Oath
Over £100 – Kanban EV
I just got Paper Tales for $24.97 from Gamenerdz.
Looks like I'm getting Familiar Tales on Christmas from me.
Now I want to try Agricola with some kind of worker death mechanic 🙂 I never seem to have the problem of starving or not heating my house (with farmers of the moor expansion) so maybe introducing some kind of aging mechanic. Possibly counteract that by each worker being different (1 is better at getting building resources, 1 is better at growing plants?) so that you can identify each worker and how long they have been around for? Hmmm this will need some thought 🙂
My $100+ game I want to buy is Eclipse: Second Dawn for the Galaxy. That game looks awesome and boy is it expensive 😬
My list would be:
$20 Hey that's my fish
$40 Dinosaur World Rawr and write
$60 My City
$80 Circadians First Light 2nd ed
$100 Hadrian Wall
I live in NZ so converted your Canadian dollars to NZ to give me a bit more options 🙂
Great picks! Absolutely love both Village and Hallertau.
I’m still working through what I bought this year but my continuing wants are:
$40 – Sagrada – Simply because I am absolutely sure I can get this to the table with another real person across from me. So sure am I, it’s on my Christmas buy list for that person. I won’t be denied.
$50 – Arkham Horror or whatever they call the new box now. Salted Caramel, I think. Maybe it’s Pumpkin Spice. – this selection is a funny joke since tomorrow I’m running to my FLGS to keep my MC collection up to date.
$100 – A Feast for Odin (hi Dylann) – it’s so expensive for something I will likely only play solo. Damn you food and housing why do you constantly get in my way?
If you're cool with Amazon purchases, Familiar Tales is $64 rn
I just knew when you where talking about a 90's game, that it had to be 6 nimmt!
Great pick, lots of fun in real life. Take 5! is a different game though, a sort more complex version of 6 nimmt!, although I think the cards are the same.
Man do I love Hallertau, such a great game! Don't think it got enough love. Was a fun watch, thanks for the vid!
