Eratosthenes calculated the circumference of the Earth around 240 BCE, but in Alexandria. I'm not sure the Sumerians/Babylonians ever did this calculation. Does the game say they did? This would be cool to know if true!
You know it will be East Coast Best Coast Series next from Shem and the team.
Love the custom Patchwork. So good when people go full on for an over the top personal customization. Everyone should have at least one game they love that they completely remake/re-skin from the bottom up. Would go to a gallery show of games like that in a second!!!
CAN'T. WAIT. FOR. WEATHER MACHINE.
We often also compare board games to going to the movies or out for dinner, and actually track the hours to see how much we've given to each game. We are also IN LOVE with MISSION DEEP SEA!
So good!
Great video guys! Regarding your comment about cost of a game vs number of great experiences I am in full agreement with this. I used to think nothing of spending a couple of hundred on going out clubbing and drinking for one night and I had nowhere near as much fun as when I am around a table with a few people playing a $50-150 game for an afternoon. If I get to play a game once or twice a month (Inis, Kemet, Root etc) or sometimes even only a few times a year (War of the Ring, Dune, Dominant Species, Twilight Imperium etc), then it has EASILY been worth the entry fee. I have spent like $500 on Forbidden Stars and the 4 faction expansions (3D printing and components) and it makes me happy. I have some games I bought that I haven't even tried yet and I don't care because my life will be long, the games are going nowhere and I know that in future they will give me hours of joy. So in conclusion, I believe that the satisfaction achieved with board games is far higher per $ and hour spent than many other things you can spend your money on. 🙂
Secret santa is a minimum $50 not max.
The Dune Imperium expansion is coming out in a couple of weeks. Also Undaunted:Reinforcements with rules for 4 players.
