  1. What are YOUR most anticipated board games of 2023 so far?Let us know!

  2. lets go to Japan looks cool! I wish it had some imagens already.

  3. Hey this is awesome!! I can’t wait to play unconscious minds and casting shadows!

  4. Definitely a lot to look forward to this year! I'm patiently waiting for Downstream, Meadows first expansion! Hasnt released in NA yet but hopefully soon

  5. wow, how did i miss japan! thanks for the heads up! 🙂

  6. Septima is what I’m looking forward to most this year. Great lists guys. Skyrise does look cool!

  7. Love the list guys! I often don't do too much digging on what's coming out next but this is a great sneak peek!

Also, my number one is probably My Island by the one and only true living doctor.

  8. So many great games coming out in 2023!! I think you will love Age of Comics, it's got a great crunch but is easily digestible hah if that makes sense!

  9. Did I miss Ra? I thought that would have been Carlo’s #1. It’s my number 1 and Skyrise is #2 as Metropolys is a fantastic game that was drastically hampered by horrendous artwork.

  10. I have supported Bloodstones too. Skyrise looks ok, I decided to skip KS it. Maybe I buy it later. Maybe I buy Zoo Vadis, not sure yet. My most anticipated games of 2023? Knizia's My Island, Amygdala (by Kramer and Kiesling) and Bloodstones probably.

  11. Queens Diilemma is also likely my most looked foward to game.. but lets be real, we aint seeing it till 2024 😉

  12. I am looking forward to The Fox Experiment, as well. I had the chance to play it at GenCon and really enjoyed it.

  13. 🙈 Marvel Zombies for me…. Which is why I will have no time or money to play anything else 😂 maybe that’s a 2022 title, but with single shipping it’s due to land around Spring 2023.

    Enjoyed your thoughts though

  14. I'm sad I didn't bite the bullet and try Fit To Print – sounds great from your experience!

  15. Good lists. I'm especially intrigued by Travel to Japan and Age of Comics. I hadn't heard of them before today, but the theme and aesthetic looks very fun.
And I've been looking forward to legacy of Yu for several months now. So that's got me excited as well.
It's gonna be a good year for board games.

  16. Super excited for Revive, Skyrise, Hoplomachus: Victorum, Legacy of Yu, Chicken! And I think Point City is coming out in 2023. Fabulous list fellas!!!

  17. My most anticipated new game is Septima, but the new version of Castles of Burgundy is a close second. I am also very excited about Unconscious Mind, but I'm sure that will end up being a 2024 release.

  18. So excited about The Fox Experiment; that's definitely my most anticipated game. Also really excited about Earth, Floe, Daybreak, and the expansion to Living Forest

  19. Commenting for the algorithm. Really hoping no games I love come out in 2023 for the sake of my wallet.

  20. No matter how many I watch, youtube just refuses to suggest any board gaming related content, haha.

  21. Archipelago is pretty unique because for the first couple of games, all players lose because they play selfishly. In the game you have your own personal goal that is hidden, but in order to obtain it, everyone else (including you) has to invest into game going on. Also, there is an exploration aspect as you try to open and conquer new lands via tile laying. So, very unique and great, unfortunately designer hasn't managed to hit past glories with the newer titles.

  22. That fancy feathers box art and music clip almost made me spit out my coffee. Hilarious.

  23. I won’t repeat the ones you guys already mentioned but here are some of mine:

    Ra (reprint)
    Pueblo (reprint)
    Trailblazers
    Search for Lost Species
    FLOE
    Point City
    Castles by the Sea
    Terraforming Mars Dice

  24. I'm really looking forward to some remakes this year including Ra, Amun-Re, and Pueblo. But I'm also looking forward to Bloodstones and Legacy of Yu as well. Also looking forward to Ahau, Halls of Hegra (another solo only game), and Atlas Lost. I'm hoping Red Dust Rebellion (a GMT COIN game) will come out; I love the theme as well as the art that has been released for it so far. Maybe Schollars of the South Tigris will be out this year too?? I'm thinking this will be another great year! Thanks for the video, guys. Stay well!

  25. Bonus Content: The games that didn't crack the list!

  26. I don't really stay much up to date with upcoming games (of any kind, never did with video games either), so the few I'm looking forward to are /mostly/ games I crowdfunded: Age of Comics, Hegemony: Lead Your Class To Victory, Witcher: The Old World, Monster Hunter World, Scarface 1920, and The Queen's Dilemma. A mixture of thematic Eurogames, mini-heavy boardgames based on video games I love a ton, and a sequel to the most fun and role-play-like Legacy game I've played so far.

Plus the deluxe reprints of Ra and Amun-Re. Reiner Knizia is definitely the most represented designer in my collection, and these will just add onto that!

The few remaining games I haven't crowdfunded (or not yet) that I'm interested in are Tribes Of The Wind and Zoo Vadis, for all the reasons y'all outlined in the video. I really want a 1-hour negotiation game that feels like I really got into a game! There are some short good games that involve negotiation, but I need something more filling. Chinatown is great, but I've found it hard to get to the table.

EDIT: Oh! And more Unmatched sets!

  27. My most anticipated would have to be some of the ones that I backed on Kickstarter like the DC Deck Building Game: Injustice (along with the Bombshells crossover pack expansion), Nut Hunt (I got my copy already, but it was 2023, so I'm including it), Tiny Epic Vikings, Necrohamster, Fox Experiment, Mushroom Sorcerer, Age of Comics, and Race to the Raft. Then for other games, this video has been interested to learn more about Lets Go To Japan. I'm also excited to learn more about Undergrove, which is Elizabeth Hargraves' next game after Fox Experiment.

  28. Looking forward to Beast and Unconscious Mind!

  29. I can't wait foe Skyrise. They had it at the FallCon convention in August. It looks good!

  30. Huge Uwe fan as well here! Looking forward to his 2023 releases. Also had a chance to play the team variant of Fit to Print so can’t wait to get a copy.

  31. I love A Feast for Odin solo, multiplayer detracts for me in that game xD
